Barrett Wissman and IMG Artists Announce 24 Hour Plays with performances by Chazz Palmintieri, Christopher Meloni & Alfre Woodard

24-Hour Plays returns to Festival del Sole with an award-winning cast. This year's film and television stars include Allison Janney, Calista Flockhart, Christopher Meloni, Alfre Woodard, Chazz and Gianna Palminteri, Jim O'Heir, Amy Povich, Kathy Garver, Tamara Tunie and Star Jones, as well as Hollywood Directors David Siegel and Scott McGehee (What Maisie Knew). See them up close for this fun-filled evening of "extreme theater," in which the players, writers and directors must create, write, rehearse and perform four 10-minute plays in the space of 24 hours.


Actors in this year's 24 Hour Plays 

Kathy Garver 

Best known as Cissy on the classic CBS sitcom Family Affair, Kathy Garver has garnered critical acclaim in film, television and theatre since she was a young girl. She played a child-slave in the movie The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston, and later appeared in such TV series as The Rifleman, Dr. Kildare, The Patty Duke Show, New Love, American Style and many more.

Allison Janney 

Allison Brooks Janney is best known for her role as C.J. Cregg on the television series The West Wing (1999–2006), for which she won four Primetime Emmy Awards, a Satellite Award and four Screen Actors Guild Awards and was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, an AFI Award and a further two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Satellite Award and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her films include Big Night (1996), Primary Colors (1998), Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999), American Beauty (1999), The Hours (2003), Hairspray (2007), Juno (2007) and The Help (2011).

Star Jones 

Star Jones is a lawyer, journalist, writer, and television personality. She is known for her former role as a co-host of the ABC weekday morning talk show The View from 1997 to 2006. She was one of sixteen contestants of the fourth installment of Celebrity Apprentice, coming in fifth place.


Christopher Meloni 

Christopher Meloni is best known for his television roles as NYPD Detective Elliot Stabler on the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and as inmate Chris Keller on the HBO prison drama Oz. In June 2012, he returned to HBO, as the vampire Roman on True Blood. In June 2013, he appeared as US Air Force Colonel Nathan Hardy in the latest Superman film, Man of Steel.

Jim O’Heir 

Jim O'Heir is one of prime time televisions most loveable losers: 'Jerry Gergich' of NBC's Parks and Recreation, and has an impressive acting resume that includes everything from Star Trek Voyager to Ally McBeal to Seeking a Friend for the End of the World.

Chazz Palmintieri 

Calogero Lorenzo "Chazz" Palminteri is an actor and writer, best known for his performances in The Usual Suspects, A Bronx Tale, and his Academy Award nominated role for Best Supporting Actor in Bullets Over Broadway.

Gianna Palmintieri 

Giana Palmintieri (Ranaudo) has starred in numerous films, from Hurlyburly and Faithful, to A Bronx Tale and Firehouse. She has also appeared in the TV series Tribeca and Tattingers. She is married to the actor Chazz Palmintieri.

Amy Povich 

Amy Povich has been featured in the films An American Carol, Transamerica, Labor Pains and Gordy. Her television credits include guest starring roles on Sex in the City, Miss Match, Without A Trace, and Law and Order among others. Amy has starred on stage in productions across the country including Ivanov and in the American Premiere of Search and Destroy at Yale Repertory Theatre and in the two hander Orgasms at the Canon Theater in Los Angeles. Amy is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, where she received her M.F.A.

Tamara Tunie 

Tamara Tunie is a film, stage and television actress, director and producer. She is best known for her portrayal of attorney Jessica Griffin on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns, and medical examiner Melinda Warner on the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. From 2000 to 2007 (and again briefly in 2009 & 2010), she appeared on both series simultaneously. Tunie has also appeared in film, most notably playing the key supporting role of Margaret Thomason in the 2012 film Flight.

Alfre Woodard 

Alfre Woodard is a film, stage, and television actress. She has been nominated once for an Academy Award (for Cross Creek) and Grammy Award, and is a four time Emmy Award winner (17 nominations). She has also won a Golden Globe Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.
